Reality In.
Engineering Out.
We capture marine assets with survey-grade 3D scanning, then engineer the change on the as-built truth. Naval architecture, renewables and electrification, built on data instead of outdated drawings.
Capture First.
Engineer on Truth.
Most marine projects start from drawings that no longer match the asset. Years of modifications, repairs and refits that never made it back onto paper. And a working vessel can rarely afford to leave service so someone can measure it by hand.
So Isca leads with survey. Survey-grade 3D laser scanning turns a vessel, structure or site into an accurate, measurable digital twin, captured under scaffold, in confined spaces, or on the water. Every engineering decision downstream is made on that data, not on assumptions.
That’s what de-risks the work that follows: stability, modifications, system installs, retrofits and electrification. Measure once, engineer with confidence, and cut the time an asset spends in the most expensive place it can sit: the dry dock.
What We DoFounder &
Lead Engineer.
Isca was founded by Josh Mold on a simple belief: better engineering decisions start with better information.
Throughout his career in engineering design, process engineering, renewable energy systems and complex industrial projects, Josh encountered the same problem repeatedly. Drawings rarely matched reality. In marine projects, that gap creates unnecessary cost, delays and risk, and decisions get made on information that no longer reflects the vessel, structure or system being worked on.
Isca was created to solve that problem.
Josh’s core focus is 3D laser scanning, digital twin creation and engineering design. By capturing vessels and marine assets to survey-grade accuracy, Isca provides the reliable as-built information that engineering decisions depend on. Accurate data at the start of a project reduces uncertainty, improves planning and creates a stronger foundation for everything that follows.
That capability is supported by experience across electrical systems, power systems, CAD, renewable energy technologies and industrial engineering projects. This combination allows survey data to be carried through into practical engineering solutions, whether supporting vessel modifications, retrofit projects, equipment integration, stability studies or future design work.
When you work with Isca, you work directly with the engineer carrying out the survey and analysis. There are no account managers, no handovers between departments and no technical detail passed through multiple layers of communication. The same person who captures the data develops the engineering deliverables and recommendations.
Where a project needs additional depth, Isca works with a trusted network of naval architects, marine engineers and technical specialists, while keeping a single point of contact throughout.
Capture reality accurately. Reduce engineering risk. Enable better decisions.
Approach
Data First
Engineering decisions made on measured reality, not assumptions. Survey-grade as-built data underpins every output.
Technically Led
Engineering judgement first. Every output is built to stand up to review by a competent technical authority.
Commercially Practical
We design to what a project can actually build, procure and operate. Accurate data cuts costly time in dry dock.
Network-Backed
Core capability extended by specialist partners, matched to each project. Depth without large-firm overhead.
Capability Across
Six Domains.
From survey and digital twin through naval architecture, electrical and power systems, offshore and floating infrastructure, controls and automation, to the project services that turn engineering into delivered work.
The full technical scope is set out for reference, useful for technical buyers and procurement teams scoping a supplier.
